Step 1: Start a wiki here On this form, make sure you tick "private". Anything else and the DET will not unblock it. and make sure you tick the box " I certify this wiki will be used for K-12 education" or it's only a 30 day trial.
Step 2: Get your wiki unblocked for students. 1. Call the ICT Service desk : 1800 338 483 and request to have the wiki unblocked. or 2. Go to your DET portal to have your wiki unblocked,
Go to 'My Applications' and down to "Internet Filters" then choose "Web filter checks".
Copy and paste your new wiki URL (Eg: www.englishbhiec.wikispaces.com ) and press SUBMIT. You will see your wiki is blocked to your students.
Click on the link up the top that says "Request to have this site unblocked" and follow the prompts.
Step 3. OK, the admin stuff is done, now you can start creating! Go watch some tutorials or...if you can't wait, go to wiki tips and tricks and just muck around.
